North Richland Middle School Student Receives Second Place in Goodyear Cotton Bowl Art Contest

Birdville ISD is proud to announce that Emily Musgrave, a sixth-grade student at North Richland Middle School, has received second place in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Art Contest in the 5th-6th grade division. Emily’s incredible artwork was selected out of more than 10,000 entries to the competition.

The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Art Contest has been hosted annually for nearly three decades. With thousands of entries, achieving a top placement is an extraordinary honor, as Emily’s artwork impressed judges with her both creativity and exceptional artistic ability.

“We are tremendously proud of Emily for earning second place out of more than 10,000 submissions in the Cotton Bowl Art Contest,” said Liz Peña, North Richland Middle School principal. “Her talent, hard work, and creativity represent the very best of our Falcons. Please join us in celebrating her for this remarkable accomplishment.”

Each year, students' submissions into the contest are laminated and distributed as gifts to the participating teams and used as placemats at selected Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic events and activities during bowl week. The first, second and third-place winners per category have their artwork proudly displayed at their respective schools and AT&T Stadium inside the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association office throughout the year.

For receiving second place, Emily received a Cotton Bowl prize package that includes four tickets to the Cotton Bowl, which will be played at AT&T Stadium on New Year’s Eve, and four pre-game bash tickets.

In addition, Emily’s teacher, Kerri Woodall, received a $300 cash prize to be used for art supplies. Mrs. Woodall also received a $500 DonorsChoose gift card and two tickets to the Cotton Bowl and pre-game bash.
